Well well well. The night is finally here. I understand that the primary competition for tonight’s entertainment has sold out, so if you want some live rock music, come on down to the Fifty Pub N’ Grub. Four bands, free to get in, and the line-up is great: Just Kitten, /root_DIR, Gordon Taylor & MARC & the Horsejerks. It’s gonna be a lot of fun, and you can help me celebrate another rotation on this here rock. The fun starts at 9, sharp!

Check out this excellent promotional image for the show this Sunday! I didn’t realize that Eric Hausmann hasn’t really played in the US in over two years (was that at my last birthday gig?), and I’ve very excited to have him on this bill, with Scott Steele, no less. (Been too long since I’ve seen him.) This is gonna be great. Don’t miss it.

The Meaning of Life continues with Day 2 at The Space Concert Club, as part of the “Sunday Service” series we have been doing there. The line-up contains Eugene’s The Long Division Trio, long-time friends Eric Hausmann & Scott Steele from Portland, local favorites VortexRemover, and Austin’s very own MKUltramegaphone closing out the show. This promises to be a lot of fun, and we’re very excited to be throwing this excellent party. Come on down. Help a man turn 42 with some excellent live music.

Are you ready for The Meaning of Life? 8 Bands / 2 Venues / 2 Days, all to help Austin Rich celebrate his 42nd trip around the sun. Mark your calendars, and drop by Saturday to hear some excellent rock music by MARC & the Horsejerks, Gordon Taylor (a 10th Anniversary Performance for them), punk combo Just Kitten stepping out of the garage for the first time, and Eugene hardcore duo /root_DIR. All at the Fifty Pub N’ Grub, the hardest rockin’ (and hardest drinkin’) bar in Salem. This will prove to be a lot of fun, and we’re really looking forward to seeing you. (And, tune in to Mid-Valley Mutations the night before, to hear Just Kitten kick things off, live on the air!)

Meme:

Band I hate: The one where money is at the center of what they do.

Band I think is overrated: The one that you hear everywhere and you wish you didn’t.

Band I think is underrated: The one that you don’t hear anywhere and you wish you did.

Band I love: Your Band

Band I secretly love: The Popular One

Guilty pleasure: The Unpopular One

Favorite band: My Band

Wow. I booked this guest so long ago, we hadn’t even voted in the election yet. But I love it when Bob Bucko Jr comes to town, and I think you will, too. This is the perfect way to kick off this weekend, and he’s playing a bunch all over Oregon, too! Well worth venturing out to see in person, but you can hear him, live on our program. This will be one to tell the grandkids about.

Let’s talk about me for a moment: over two days 8 Bands are playing at two venues to help me celebrate my Adams Anniversary, otherwise referred to as 42 laps around the sun. MARC & the Horsejerks, Gordon Taylor, Just Kitten & /root_DIR on April 29th at the Fifty Pub N’ Grub. Then, MKUltramegaphone, VortexRemover, The Long Division Trio & Eric Hausmann and Scott Steele are rocking The Space Concert Club on April 30th. I would love to see ya’ll there. Please, mark it on your calendar. Let’s do this.

I really enjoy making my new podcast, which is a departure from the other shows I’m involved with and / or host. I do this show with my friend Angela, and we talk about stuff that is on our minds, with dumb jokes to accompany these stories. It’s very much our sensibility, and for that we hope that you’ll give it a chance to become part of your weekly routine. Is is Monday already? It must be time for WWRR? Enjoy.
